Latex Technology

Healthy sleepers can turn over up to 60 times a night, so it is important to be able to move easily during sleep. The natural elasticity and ‘bounce’ in a latex mattress means less muscle labour and energy is needed, which in turn offers a better quality and more revitalising sleep. Latex supports your natural movements and adapts perfectly to the body’s contours to ensure the correct sleeping position, and balanced pressure distribution provides optimal support to help prevent pain and stiffness.

The latex foam we use in the production of our Salus mattresses has the stamp of quality due to its manufacture by Latexco, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of latex foam to the bed industry. Latexco guarantees the use of the best quality natural latex coming from select and controlled rubber plantations around the world.

Our Salus Contempo Collection has luxurious four way stretch covers so you can experience the optimum feel of the fillings and feature Tencel® technology.

Tencel fibre

Lyocell is made from cellulose found in wood pulp which has been harvested from tree farms. The forests and the pulp produced have earned Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification that the products come from socially and environmentally responsible forests. The European Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification has also endorsed the farming practices as sustainable.

The chemicals used to produce the fibres are non-toxic. In addition, the cellulose or ground pulp used for Tence is treated in what is known as the ‘closed loop process’ in which these solvents are recycled with a recovery rate of 99.5%. The tiny amount of remaining emissions is decomposed in biological purification plants. Because of the nature of the material, the processing never requires bleach. This overall method of manufacturing fabric was awarded the “European Award for the Environment” by the European Union.

The new generation in thermo regulating comfort

Viscoool contains a blend of sustainable natural raw materials including soybean oil and a refreshing natural balm to help you experience a deeper, more restful sleep. This, combined with a unique open cell structure that guarantees a higher level of moisture evaporation and breathability, means Viscoool stays cooler for longer so you can sleep more comfortably all night long.

  • Unique Viscoool technology for a deeper, more restful sleep
  • Reduces heat build-up which can be associated with standard memory foam
  • Contours and cushions the body for a greater level of comfort
  • A ‘greener’ product – contains sustainable natural raw materials

How does it work?

Viscoool thermo

Viscoool contains a natural balm which cools down and absorbs body heat. This unique ingredient is added during the manufacturing process, making it inherent in the foam and not just a surface treatment. Independent tests carried out by the AITEX Textile Research Institute show the effectiveness of Viscoool in comparison to standard memory foam.

Superior comfort • Contoured body support • Optimum breathability

Our exclusive medi-foam® contoured sleep support system technology features in the Salus Contempo Ortho 1000 and Ortho 1200. These mattresses have been designed to be fully supportive, yet offer a high level of comfort and well being. The technology has been developed and engineered with zoned sections to target areas which need extra support, such as the back and spine, whilst additional horizontal zoning provides comfort and pressure relief to areas including the shoulders and hips. The multi-channelling helps to circulate air flow around the body and increase breathability for a healthier sleep.
